To compliment your exercise program, we design a nutritional plan that is unique to you and tailored to your body type and goals. We appreciate that nutritional changes are often challenging and frustrating. With the fitness and nutrition industry fixated on diets, there is a wealth of misinformation and misdirection. Diet programs are only a quick-fix approach and offer little chance for success. At Trillium Fitness, we find out what works for you and how to make it part of your permanent lifestyle. Here’s how we approach your nutrition:
Make it Personal
To inform the design of your nutrition plan we begin by identifying foods that are appropriate for you. This gives us the confidence that our nutritional prescription will be customised accurately to your body type. Once identified, we eliminate potentially harmful foods then apply an evidenced-based nutrition system to design your nutritional plan.
Food Intolerance Testing
Immunoglobulin (IgG) food intolerance testing is our first step in identifying foods that are potentially harmful to your body. It is well documented that food intolerance’s can lead to a broad spectrum of symptoms including respiratory or gastrointestinal disorders, headaches and/or skin problems. Food intolerances can also contribute to bloating, food cravings and influence metabolism, a key component in weight loss or gain. Many symptoms and chronic conditions can be resolved simply by indentifying and eliminated trigger foods. We work with a local, trusted company for all food intolerance testing.
In addition to food intolerance testing, we continue to build your nutritional profile by understanding foods appropriate for your metabolism and body type. Identifying your metabolic needs means understanding if your body type is better suited to protein based meals, carbohydrate based meals, or a mixture of both. Similarly, identifying your body type means establishing whether you are primarily a mesomorph, ectomorph or endomorph, which allows us to tailor your Meal Planner further toward your specific body type. We then use a system to establish more specifically what your macronutrient (fats, proteins, carbohydrates) and caloric needs are to be as objective as possible.
Good nutrition yields results. As with your exercise, we use physiological assessments to measure the effectiveness of your nutritional plan. These assessments will ensure your personalised fitness plan stays on track and measure your progress. Also, to track long-term success, we log all of your assessments in addition to your nutrition and fitness programs.
Your nutritional plan is not a diet. Nutrition plans are an opportunity for us to work with food selection, timing, and sourcing to identify what fits you as a lifestyle. Nutrition plans are essential for this process. However, we are not reliant on them for the long-term. We think lifestyle. Integrating your nutritional changes into a lifestyle is the eventual goal and our true measure of success.
